Advanced Dribbling
Now things are going to get more advanced as we will now attempt to use the moves we have learned in the last step to create 3s using dribble moves.
Click on each tab to see in game examples of how to use each move to create a 3 with dribble moves.
Misdirection Walk Through
First we will be going over how to do the misdirection. This move is what a lot of people are eager to learn, but is one of the more complicated moves. It involves timing of the right trigger and both analog sticks simultaneously.
This move is very useful because your player's body is moving one way, but speedboosting another. This move can be frustrating to learn for beginners, but remember, be patient. With repetitions you will learn and get it down. Here's how to do the move.

How to Crab
Now crabbing. Some might wonder 'what is crabbing?'. Crabbing is a term used within the 2k community to describe a ball handler getting a defender stuck behind them using a sideways movement (Likely the reason for the name, crabs move sideways). Leading to an open shot attempt. You can crab a defender multiple ways this year. Here we will dive into those ways.

Crab Cross Tutorial
After learning the Asta Slide Crab you should add some variation using the Crab Cross. Here are some examples of how to use a crab cross in game.

Durant Spam Technique
The Kevin Durant size up escape hop back spam is a great move to use when wanting to get open for a shot. With this animation, you can speedboost forward and after the first step, you can hop back. Likely catching the defender trying to defend the drive, leaving him in the dust.

Pick & Roll to Create #1
Pick n roll. In these situations the goal is to have your defender hit the center's screen, freeing you up for a shot, pass,or drive. Although it gets much more complicated in game, let's break down the pick n roll plays you might see in game.
We start the pick n roll play on the open (non stacked side) of the court. Where both corners are filled along with one of the hashes. The 'screener' then sets the screen on the right side of the defender.
Here, the defender is trying to AVOID the screen, forcing the defending center to play high and cover the other side of the screen.
I then 'crab crossover' to the right. Forcing the defending center to play high or my defender to try to fight through the screen. They miscommunicate, freeing up an open shot opportunity. A play so simple with so little dribble moves required but yet very effective.

Pick & Roll to Create #2
Here, the spacing isn't good, it's rec with randoms and it won't always be perfect in this situation. We come again to the left hash. We see our pick n roll partner coming from the right side.
We then fake going to the right side using an 'asta slide' forcing the defender to go near the screen.
The defender then hits the screen and gets stuck on it. Forcing him to go through the screen. The defending center then plays high, to help defend against the 3. We see this, we fake going right, where the other defender is, and go left (using the misdirection dribble move) . Forcing them to come through traffic if they want to contest the shot.
We then have a shooting opportunity. If the corner defender helps here, we would then pass it to the corner. This is what the full play looks like.

Isolation to Create #1
In the isolation play, you have nobody helping you to get open. Therefore everything is on you. You have to pay close attention to the defender and see what he's giving you. If he's playing you high and tight, blow by for a dunk. If he's playing you low, try to create a shot opportunity. Let's dive into what these situations might look like.
This play, the defender has help from his left corner. Seeing this, I want to do a simple move that gives me a speed boost to the right side to where I can beat my defender and avoid the help defense from the left side of the court.
I beat him with my dribble move and the quick first step badge. I then see the right corner defender helping.
Seeing this you could either pass to the corner at the perfect time for a shot opportunity or here, we did a simple behind the back to avoid the help defender and protect the ball. Leading to an easy dunk after beating both defenders. The full play looks like this.

Isolation to Create #2
Here, we see our defender playing really low, trying his best to defend against the drive.
Seeing this, we can predict he will over play the drive. So we plan to fake him with the speedboost inside-Kevin Durant hopback move.
He bites, drops back to defend the rim. We then are in position to do the Kevin Durant hopback and be open for a shot opportunity.
