How do I Unlock Cap Breakers in NBA 2K25?

To Unlock Cap Breakers you need to first decide on an affiliation. After choosing an affiliation, Rise or Elite does not matter, you will begin earning progress towards your Park Rep.

Once your rep reaches Starter 3 you will unlock your first 5 cap breakers.

There are some additional rules around where you can apply your cap breakers. First, you can only put at most 5 cap breakers in 1 category despite earning additional cap breakers at higher rep levels.

Second, you cannot use cap breakers to raise a rating above the hard cap from the player creation screen.

Third, an attribute category must be maxed out before you can apply a cap breaker to that category.

Cap Breaker attributes all carry the same amount of weight, unlock when you initally create your player in the MyPlayer builder where going from 98 to 99 may be really expensive. Instead, if you use cap breakers to go from 98 to 99 or 25 to 26 it costs the exact same.

There are a total of 15 Cap Breakers that can be earned.

NBA 2K25 Badge Perks

Badge Perks each have 2 tiers. You will want to factor in making sure you have a quality Tier 1 and Tier 2 badge to apply your max +1 badge perk to.

The Max +1 Badge is the most important thing to consider when looking at Tier 1 and Tier 2 badge composition.
